Freelance Writing, Independent Teaching, Development Editing, and Consulting

From my former life as a business analyst to my current life as a writer, teacher, and editor, I bring all my experience, enthusiasm, and expertise as a professional and an artist into everything I do.

As a freelance writer, I’ve worked with small businesses and entrepreneurs to complete marketing plans, business plans, corporate/organizational newsletters, and website content. I’ve edited countless manuscripts across genres—fiction, nonfiction, and poetry—and consulted writers on traditional and self publishing, marketing, and more. And as an educator, I have over a decade of experience in teaching and curriculum design, making my approach to classes and workshops dynamic and engaging.

Join Jupiter’s Moons

In a recent author spotlight, I declared that “I've made a commitment to exploring my art as creatively as possible…” Essentially, I am (re)committed to “making art and making love from here on out.” This declaration requires a new level of dedication to centering my work as a writer and artist and opening myself to receive a new level of support for my work and my life.

With an open heart and a spirit of gratitude, I invite you to support my continued work as a writer and artist by becoming a patron through my Patreon page. There are levels of support to fit a variety of budgets, and the benefits of membership include an exclusive newsletter, Jupiter’s Moons, which features my monthly astronomy column, Gimme a Little Space, access to my art (original photography and writing through my Lines and Sight series), previews of work in progress, multimedia content, and more.

Members of The Writer’s World get exclusive perks to support your creative practice, share in accountability, and deepen your commitment to craft.

Building Literary Community

Our mission: Kitchen Table Literary Arts Center builds awareness, appreciation, and support for Black women and women of color writers, poets, and their work

At Kitchen Table Literary Arts, we honor the tradition of activist, feminist, writer, and scholar Barbara Smith’s Kitchen Table Press mission to "to make visual the writing, culture, and history of women of color” with more than our name. The work of increasing the visibility for Black women and women of color writers, poets, and artists is still extremely necessary, and our center's mission reflects our dedication to this very important work.
