Winding Down

Go Slow

As many of you know, I’ve been slowing down instead of revving up at the end of the year. I talked with a friend recently and I shared with her how making the decision to focus on all that I’ve done during the year as it ends, a good “Job well done!” instead of “Oh, shit! Look at all the stuff you said you were going to do but didn’t!” has helped me recapture feelings of pride, gratitude, and affirmation for the last eight weeks of the year. While I do begin working on what is being moved to the next year from the current year’s list, I do so without tying my worth and my success to checking boxes and striking items off my calendar.

I’m better when I slow down. I’m more thoughtful and more engaged. I’m more present. I choose to end my year those ways rather than in the energy white supremacy and capitalism wants us to have as the calendar winds down: the energy of fear, lack, and overextension.

Here’s to going slow, y’all.

Just a Few November Things

I took a glorious couple of weeks off from my personal social media, so I haven’t been able to really promote these things as much as I would have liked. Thank you, though, for always rocking with me and supporting what I got going on. I hope to see you soon!
